The difference between C/U color card

There are 2 common color card used in market. C and U (Coated and Uncoated)

When we looking at Pantone color, there will be a C or U in the ending.Like the picture, Pantone 2488U, Pantone 3556U etc...

We use C and U more often.C stands fro coated paper with glossy and smooth surface, the color spectrum is printed on 148 grams glossy coated paper. U stands for uncoated paper with a matte and non-smooth surface. Uncoated , chromatogram printed on 118g thick offset paper.
